Episode 115--
Be sure to take a gander at the new Ninja Mountain site under construction by none other than our own Kieran Yanner. He has put forth a herculean effort and the site is coming along beautifully.

I really like the new site. especially the forum part.
I'd like to see critiquing section to the forum.
It's good to know you're interested in that - because we'd been kicking that idea around as well! Keep an eye out for it sometime soon. Thanks for the feedback too!
I have a suggested link for people interested in the question of pricing, it's an old thread on ConceptArt but a lot of smart people contributed: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=97244
Also, artists, you should totally log in your time so you know after a while how much to charge for something, because you know how long it takes.
Though this might be a useful link for figuring prices/hourly rate: http://freelanceswitch.com/rates/
"These pretty images are not made by dead artists! Have a goatse!"
Now I'm thinking of a short story about a publisher having an army of undead illustrators in his basement. Writes itself almost.
Socar, you're scaring me. $1200 just for RENT?! O_O
I was just counting how much I need to make a month to live and how much I need to make a month to live comfortably. Like, man. Compared to you westerners, I need quite little.
(I pay $115 for a month's rent)
Which is undoubtedly a good thing for someone just trying to go full time freelance, eh? ;)
You must have a very nice apartment though.
Hey guys and gal, that was yet again a great episode.
I take it you guys decided not to make use of the WIPnation boards as your home?
I will finally get the chance to get in on the ground floor of some new art forum community :D :D
Thanks for the Wally Wood link.
By the way China is a member of the Berne Convention and has a modern Copyright Law which on paper anyway protects the rights of artists and other creative people. It is inadequately enforced but does exist.
Great Episode!
I know I'm pretty late to the comments here, but just wanted to chip in along with the others and say that the new site looks great! And I'm really looking forward to following/using it when it's all up and running properly.
Suggestions wise - one of those 'whoever happens to be online at the same time, opt in, group/conversation text based chat live' box thingy options (like they used to have on the old artorder ning site) might be pretty cool, if it isnt a huge hassle to set that sort of thing up. It always seems to add in a bit of 'life' to a communal/info based sort of site when folks are right there online chatting away about all sorts of random junk in the background while all the slightly more serious stuff gets chewed over like eucalyptus leaves in the forums.
You guys might want to check out your forum, unless you've gone into selling drugs ;)
Thanks for the heads up, Rick!
And everyone else - thanks for all the great comments! We've been busy little ninjas lately and haven't responded, but we love to read each and every note. It's our only payment, after all! :D
