Episode 111--Let's build some character.

In this testosterone-soaked episode ( due to the marked lack of one Socar Myles)--Drew, Kieran, Patrick, and Jeremy discuss the manly topic of character design amongst other themes.
We also come together in celebration of our new regular crit feature.
Many thanks to Talantyre and Scott Johnson for putting their labors of love before our panel.

Thanks for a new episode. I haven't heard it yet, but I'm sure it is AWESOME! Listening now.

I haven't either, Jeremy, but I'll bet dollars to doughnuts you're right! (Well, I was there of course but that doesn't count..)

I took the first critique seriously until I took a look at the picture five minutes in. LOL

Anthony and Atom: Ha! We were hoping that would be the case. Funny thing is, we just fell into that, and hadn't discussed what we'd say. It was so easy given Scott's AWESOME drawing... ;D

ah good you're back! After having listened to 110 episodes over the course of a month I was having withdrawal symptoms. Intersting stuff about characters

Michelle - thanks for listening! How are you feeling? I can't imagine all that concentrated Ninja-ness is good for the brain... ;D

Thanks for the critique!
It's good to hear it's not too top heavy. That had been a struggle.
And the girl is hard as nails, so I'm glad Patrick caught that despite all the girly flowers. ^-^

The day of the dead reference amused me since I live in Texas and see so much of it.

Besides saying awesome 10.000 times more than before the side effects seem to be minimal. Thank you for the concern ;)

As always, you Ninja are doing a great job and I am very appreciative of the increased opportunity to get a critique from y'all.

I do not do fantasy illustration, but I was hoping you could give me some feedback, just the same. This is an illustration I produced for an article that already ran in the Philadelphia Magazine. It was suggested on the Escape From Illustration Island Podcast that a good illustration exercise is to create work for articles already in print. Using the Ninja advice from a few months ago to, "just complete a project," I finally completed a project. Here it is:

Thank you for your past and future help.

I just wanted to mention an interesting Pod cast to listen to in between episodes of Ninja Mountain. It's called "Beware of Podcast". It's a series of interviews with various creatives.

Well thank you guys, I was designing helmets with horns this weekend and I decided to avoid huge things that get tangled in weapons. I would have totally made a "Frazetta" except, not nearly as good.
